Niykee continues to write songs despite having been swept up in the recent chaos. Her selection was made to be part of her participation in YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. As a producer magnet, Niykee has a constant eye on the numerous beats delivered to her. The majority are a source of new songs. In just 5 seconds, I can tell the quality of a song or not. Then I get an idea for an original song, and start writing it immediately. My guitar is set up on the porch, and I let the words flow. Most of the time, it's done in less than thirty minutes. Niykee keeps working on her abilities as a poet and lyricist. She notes how her experiences of suffering through the years is a constant source of unusual inspiration. "Even in the absence of writing about my own life in the open, the sadness of losing my sister and my painful childhood are incorporated into my songs," she says. This shapes my music and adds a greater significance, something I consider extremely important. I want to be able listen to my songs in 20 years and be proud of the things I've written.
